Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), sent to the Welton Academy, which is a disciplined and conservative school, his roommate Neil Perry and their classmates meet English Teacher Professor Keating (Robin Williams) in the late 1950s. Keating teaches his students to embrace different perspectives on poetry, literature, life and to rid of stereotypes and tells them about the Dead Poets Society. The students each embark on an inner journey while going against the status quo.
